Jenny from the Block is back!
The new teaser video for Jennifer Lopez's single "Same Girl," off her upcoming album, sends the superstar, 44, back to her native Bronx, New York, and rocking hairstyles worthy of the borough. "The inspiration for this album is a full circle story of Jennifer's life since her [debut 1999] On the Six album," hair stylist Elsa Canedo, who worked with J.Lo for the video, tells Us Weekly. "The looks were very relaxed and real, but we tossed in a few braids to give it some Bronx flavor."

For the American Idol judge's loose waves in the video, Canedo, using Oribe products, prepped hair with Foundation Mist and Royal Blowout Heat Styling Spray before blow drying with a large round brush. She then curled 1 1/2-inch sections of Lopez's hair with a 1-inch curling iron, leaving the ends out. To finish she misted with Superfine Hair Spray and ran her fingers through the curls to loosen them up.

Find out the secret to the braided style in Jennifer Lopez's new "Same Girl" video.
To create the braided half-updo, Canedo flat-ironed Lopez's hair and created parts in the center and above each temple. She French-braided each section, starting close to the top center part and working her way to the temple part. "This gives the braids a V-shape at the top of the head," Canedo explains. She then French-braided 1/2-inch sections of Lopez's hair on each side up towards the back and ending at the crown and combined all four braids into one large plait.
